Lego Il party bus Pop-Up - The Lego Movie 2 70828

Unusual kit for me to spend time with, but I have plans for a MOC and I decided to build the official kit first. Build is fun and intricate. A few simple modifications make it better. 1) The gears that fold out with the door can be raised by a single tile height to match the main dance floor in the bus. Then all gears will turns when the axle is rotated! One gear must be moved in the door to reach the bus gears. 2) This bus can be easily motorized by removing the wheel hub at the end of the axle and adding a motor there. Also add a couple pieces of LEGO to engage the light without having to hold it in. 3) The disco ball can be easily moved from the end of the boom to hang down from its underside. Makes for more of a party, but you need a couple extra parts of the right type to accomplish this. Excellent kit-- well done once again, LEGO!

Nice fun build. Somewhat fragile to play with. Push and turn for the light could have been better.

I was looking for a set that was different and I found it. This set was so much fun to build. The fact that it's what I call a "fantasy build" and the brilliant array of colours really made it so interesting and fun. I'm a big fan of disco music so when I was this, I had to have it. The included minifigures are so cute. LOVE Disco Unikitty (I'm a real Unikitty fan) and I love the colours of Melody and Tempo. The set has over 1,000 pieces but it's a really compact build when it's done. The "disco lighting" on the dancefloor is great though I don't see any easy way to be able to get to it to replace the battery. One thing that is disappointing is that the big purple shield on the front comes loose in the box and is pretty scratched as a consequence. Lego really needs to bag pieces like this. I so enjoyed building the Pop-Up Party bus and I can see children having fun with it.

The interior light doesn’t seem to light anything up even though I can see a red dot showing its on. Hard to believe a new toy needs a new battery already.

this was one of the best lego sets i have ever built. you guys showed emmet in one of the product pictures so i had to buy it. unfortunately, he was not in the set:( the bus looks great, but i cant figure out how to fit zebe in the cockpit. please guide me how to. still marvellous bus!!

I bought this set for my daughter who just turned 10 after seeing the newest of the lego movies and this was one of the best sets built in a while. She has been a fan of the Friends sets and this fits in with all of those. I won't say how the light brick gets incorporated because I don't want to ruin the surprise but it was really cool. Lots of new parts and colors that I haven't seen in other sets. My daughter let me help her build this and we had a lot of fun. Normally her sets get taken apart after a little bit but I think this one is going to stay together for the long haul. Fun to build, fun to play with. Hope they come out with more like this. This felt like it had details that you find in the creator expert sets. I like how this felt like a transition piece because of those details.
