Krups F20342 200 W Nero

My husband and son gave this to me for Christmas. It's stopped working last week. It makes noise like it's working but then does nothing and overheats.

Type 203- Is a workhorse. I'm tempted to buy another just in case this stops working one day & if KRUPs ever goes away or sells. Hopefully they are still keeping the same quality in construction because this is amazing! I have wiped mine down so many times-The word KRUP is no longer on the front of it and the inside of the lid has had pieces chipped off it by the swirling beans-But that might happen after 35 years of wiping it down. Keep up the quality work KRUPS!!!

I've had this style of grinder for decades. All of them have failed in the same exact way, one side of the a/c cord breaks after years of flexing where it comes out of the grinder. A simple repair for most people but the clips that hold the bottom of the grinder on are designed to break if you try to release them. Why? This is infuriating. Unlikely I'll purchase another one for this reason alone. Wasteful.

I bought my KRUPS coffee maker and KRUPS coffee grinder new at a local store (back in those days) in February 1997. My KRUPS grinder appears identical to this F2034251, but mine is "Model 203B" made in Mexico (at first glance I was a bit concerned as I'd hoped it had been made in Germany). My KRUPS grinder is still working well into July 2024 when I posted this review. As I read some negative reviews here it has me wondering what might have changed? I paid $19.99 for mine, and have had more than my money's worth for excellent performance and longevity. In 2018 I bought a Keurig coffee maker. But now I find my faithful KRUPS grinder is withdrawing me away from wasteful standard Keurig K-Cups, as with the KRUPS I can grind fresh whole coffee (more affordable at COSTCO), as much as I need, and put some into my Keurig "MY K-Cup Reuseable Filter" (ground coffee holder) to make a fine cup of coffee. As far as critiques about cleaning, I've not had problems carefully washing the grinder stainless steel interior tub (even with the captive cutting blade there), and wash the clear lid, all the while taking care not to immerse the body of get water into the bottom, then setting it to the side to dry. I suppose that one who wants this to be removable can spend more 50% more to buy the KRUPS Vortex model grinder; I am happier with the same result of coffee, but with less to go wrong or get lost. Sorry complainers, but your experiences have not been mine.

We inherited this Krups 203 grinder from my wife's father and have used it occasionally over the years and today it finally stopped working! This could be 40-50 yrs old? Hope you still make products this simple, great and lasting, unlike almost every other home appliance today built with planned obsolence!

I almost never write product reviews. This however has to be an exception. In part because I am a bit heartbroken at having to say farewell to my KRUPS Type F203 grinder. I don't recall if I bought it in 2004 or 2007, however it has remained a faithful part of my daily coffee routine when other parts broke (faretheewell, old french presses and stovetop espresso maker). I had gotten to the point where by the sound alone I could tell just how finely my beans had been ground, whether more course for the french press or finer grinds for other methods. I believe the final failure was entirely my own doing. I had the habit of smacking the bottom and sides to loosen the grinds before pouring them out. They would stick a bit to the walls, which is expected, and required a little help getting out. Unfortunately one of my recent blows struck to hard and broke one of the clips that holds the bottom panel on. This allowed some of the interior components to come loose. I could hold it together for a bit, but today when I plugged it in and attempted to grind my beans I was met with silence from this little black wonder of a machine. I tried to fix it to no avail. I am reminded of how some guests from about 10 years ago, themselves professional coffee roasters and baristas visiting for the international Aeropress competition (they took the gold!) had insisted on grinding everything using their small, hand cranked grinder. These are people who insist on exacting temperatures and timing for making coffee with anything, to include my no-frills french press. They insisted that electric grinders were subpar and that the blades never retained enough sharpness to do the beans justice. How surprised they were when they tried out my KRUPS F203. Their reactions alone almost made up for the additional 10-15 minutes it would take them to make my morning cup, something they insisted upon due to my archaic ways of preparing the sacred brew. I would 100% recommend this brand. At $20, it has basically cost me a dollar per year for a high quality grinder that would have probably lasted another 20 years if I had been more careful about how I got the grounds out of them and into my coffeemaker. I just wish I was a coffee influencer and had the clout to request a replacement with the promise to advertise it on social media. Which I'll undoubtedly be doing regardless. I wish every brand made products of this quality and hope that my next one stays with me for just as long. Farewell, old friend. You helped to bring gallons upon gallons of invigorating, freshly ground pleasure into my life and those who shared a cup with me.

I had mine for 40 years. It still purrs and works beautiflly.

While the grinding function works well it is impossible to remove or replace the top without getting coffee grounds everywhere leading to a huge mess to clean up with every use and a waste of a lot of coffee!!!! Don’t buy this. Many better products available
