The EF-EOS-R adapter allows photographers to upgrade to mirrorless cameras with all the associated advantages of that system while retaining and using their existing EF and EFS lenses. The built in control ring means specific specialised functions can be allocated to the non R lenses therefore increasing the usefulness of these lenses. These functions can include shutter speed, aperture, exposure compensation and ISO. The ring adds a bit of weight and length to lenses but the benefits easily make up for this. I purchased the adapter with a R7 and am pleased I can use all my existing lenses with it. So I can continue to have the benefits of L lenses now combined with the advancement of mirrorless.

Great addition having the control ring

Whilst the normal adapter for RF - EF lenses is fine, the addition of the control ring on this adapter makes such a difference. It gives me much more control over settings like my aperture leaving the body dials for other settings.
Works a treat and allows me to use the same control setup for RF and EF lenses. Well worth the extra $$$

I bought this adapter to use EF lenses on R6. I set up the control ring to adjust AF mode. It is very convenient to look through the viewfinder and change a mode quickly. I am satisfied with this purchase.

If you don't have the budget or desire to upgrade to RF Len's just yet - at least consider adapting your EF glass with this. The control ring speeds up workflows considerably.
